Celebrate the Holiday Spirit at Danville's Spectacular Festival of Trees!

VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Vermilion County’s cherished annual tradition, aimed at benefiting local children, kicked off on Saturday.

The Festival of Trees, a highlight of the community calendar, is set to run from November 15 through November 19 at the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville.

As part of the festivities, visitors can immerse themselves in the holiday spirit by exploring over 130 beautifully adorned trees. The event promises live musical performances, and opportunities to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, among other attractions. This year, attendees can also look forward to a variety of specially themed events.

Princess Tea Party
- Sunday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon
Neon North Pole Family Bingo
- Sunday, Nov. 16 from 5-7 p.m.
Ladies Luncheon
- Monday, Nov. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Arena Floor)

There will also be a raffle, which features prizes — including a playhouse handcrafted by the Georgetown-Ridge Farm Schools High School Building Trades class. You can purchase one raffle ticket for $3, two tickets for $5 or five tickets for $10. Tickets can be purchased at the festival.

Organizers said 100% of the net proceeds from the events benefit children in the community. To date, the festival has raised $685,000, thanks to the community’s attendance and contributions.
