CLINTON, Ill. — Clinton High School’s boys basketball coach, Vic Binkley, has carved out a remarkable coaching career, marked by success across various teams.
Binkley’s coaching journey began at Mt. Auburn and included an impressive three-decade tenure at Warrensburg-Latham. Now in his fourth season with Clinton, he has amassed an extraordinary total of 800 victories over his career.
Binkley describes reaching this impressive milestone as “special,” but he is quick to acknowledge the contributions of others along the way.
“Basketball has always been a passion of mine, and coaching it has been a true blessing,” Binkley remarked. “I’ve been fortunate to work with talented assistant coaches, exceptional players, and supportive communities. With these elements in place, success naturally follows.”
Under Binkley’s guidance, the players on the Maroons’ roster have gained invaluable insights and knowledge from their veteran coach.
“He knows a lot about the game, he helps us in every way,” sophomore guard Jaeden Bell said. “I mean, even timeouts, he’s telling us where to go, what space to open and score the ball.”
Binkley secured the milestone in a road win over Riverton early in the 2025-26 season.
