MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA) — Racing enthusiasts throughout Central Illinois are mourning the unexpected death of NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, who passed away at 41 due to a “severe illness.” Busch’s dynamic career left an indelible mark on fans nationwide.
“He never held back. Every lap he raced was as if it were his last,” commented Brian Rieck, owner of the Coles County Speedway.
Rieck has been a long-time follower of Busch’s career and holds fond memories of Busch’s son, Brexton, competing at the Mattoon track. Recently, young Brexton clinched a second-place finish in a junior sprint race.
