CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Salvation Army in Champaign County is running low on canned goods, so they’re turning to the community for help.

The Salvation Army is hoping community members will help them fill their truck full of canned goods. On July 14, they will host a canned goods drive in Champaign from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers will be in the front parking lot to collect the cans.

If you aren’t able to make it on July 14, there are still a couple of other ways that you can help out. The Salvation Army also has an ongoing hygiene drive — their goal is fill 500 drawstring bags up with supplies for high school students in the county before school begins in August. The Salvation Army also said they are always in need of more volunteers. You can call 217-607-9445 or email Aaron.Bird@usc.salvationarmy.org for more information.
