In Champaign, Illinois, firefighters tackled two separate blazes on Saturday, with one confirmed as an accidental chimney flue fire and the other still under scrutiny.

The first incident prompted the Champaign Fire Department to mobilize at 3:45 p.m. to a vacant single-family house and garage located near North 4th and East Park Streets. Upon arrival, crews were confronted with “heavy smoke” pouring from the structure. Firefighters swiftly deployed multiple hose lines to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and investigators are now delving into the fire’s origins.
