There’s an escalating demand for immediate and comprehensive medical attention for pregnant women, with a particular focus on African-American mothers. One passionate advocate is actively working to raise awareness and push for legislative changes.

Charles Johnson, a leading voice in maternal health advocacy, established the non-profit organization 4Kira4Moms, which is dedicated to combating the issue of maternal mortality.

Johnson’s commitment to this cause is deeply personal. He was propelled into advocacy after the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Kira, who passed away during the delivery of their second child.

Since 2016, Johnson has been devotedly raising his sons and honoring Kira’s memory through the impactful initiatives of the foundation.

Further amplifying his efforts, Johnson introduced the 4Kira4Dads initiative. This program aims to furnish fathers and partners with the support and resources they need to effectively accompany and assist the women in their lives throughout the pregnancy journey.
