ORLANDO, Fla. – Get ready for a hot and humid start to the week across Central Florida. High temperatures Monday and Tuesday will climb into the lower 90s, but thanks to the humidity, it will feel more like 100 to 105 degrees in the afternoon. If you have outdoor plans, be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
Scattered storms are possible both days, especially in the afternoons and early evenings. While rain coverage will be a little lower to start the week, some storms could bring gusty winds around 50 mph and locally heavy downpours. With slower-moving storms developing Tuesday, areas of flooding could become an issue with repeated rainfall.
As we move into Wednesday and the second half of the week, rain and storm chances will climb even higher. Moisture will build across the state, bringing a 50% to 60% chance of afternoon and evening storms each day through the weekend.
Outside of the storms, warm and muggy conditions will stick around with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and overnight lows in the 70s.
Stay weather-aware, and be prepared for late afternoon to early evening downpours if you’ll be out and about later this week.
