WINTER PARK, Fla. – A doctor from Winter Park is now facing legal trouble after organizing a party where over 30 minors were present, leading to underage drinking and the hospitalization of a teenager, according to local authorities.

Police officers responding early Saturday encountered a strong odor of alcohol and found numerous empty bottles scattered around. An arrest affidavit reveals that Hao Nhu Tran, 51, who owns the residence, confessed to hosting the event and was aware that minors were consuming alcohol, although she claimed she did not supply it.

The situation escalated with a 911 call reporting a 15-year-old girl who had lost consciousness and was vomiting, unable to regain alertness.

“She won’t wake up. She is not responding. She’s been throwing up,” the caller stated, conveying the urgency of the situation.

The call was then taken over by a voice identified as a physician, who reported that the teenager was conscious but suffering from alcohol poisoning. The doctor detailed monitoring the girl’s vital signs and mentioned that the girl’s mother had made the emergency call.

Another caller, who was identified as a concerned parent, described the scene at the party:

“There is major, extensive, underage drinking. People were falling flat on their face. One of my son’s friends fell in the hot tub fully closed.”

The parent then went on to say the party was being supervised by only one adult while about “20 kids were present.”

“The mother is home, she is a practicing physician, so that kind of is more distressing as well,” the caller said.

The Winter Park Fire Department arrived to assist the 15-year-old who was found unconscious from alcohol consumption, according to police. She was taken to a hospital, an arrest affidavit states.

Body-camera video released Thursday showed Tran being taken into custody.

Tran was arrested to face charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, allowing an open house party with underage drinking, and selling or serving alcohol to those under 21.
