HEYWORTH, Ill. (WCIA) – The Cissna Park Timberwolves have established themselves as a formidable presence on the volleyball court, particularly when it comes to the state tournament. This year, they’re heading back to Normal, Ill. for the third consecutive time, a testament to their consistent excellence and determination.

On Monday, the Timberwolves secured their spot in the 1A Super-Sectional by defeating Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg with a commanding performance, winning in straight sets (25-22, 25-11). This victory paves their way to the state semifinals, where they are set to face Tremont on Friday at 10:30 a.m.

Head coach Josh Landon attributes the team’s success to a combination of hard work and dedication. “We’re a very fundamentally sound team,” Landon remarked. “Once we master the basics, we strive to elevate our game to new heights. The commitment from the players, alongside the unwavering support from their families, creates a unique and rewarding coaching environment. It’s a privilege to work with such motivated and talented individuals.”
