For over half a century, the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble from Denver, Colorado, has captivated audiences worldwide with its dynamic performances and educational initiatives rooted in African American culture.

Last night, the ensemble returned to the Savannah Black Heritage Festival, gracing the Otis S. Johnson Cultural Arts Center with their rich artistic legacy. Mrs. Robinson reflected on the profound impact their work has on young people, expressing joy in witnessing their growth and achievements.

“We had a delightful time with the young people yesterday,” she shared. “Engaging with them in even the simplest ways brings us immense joy. Hearing that they’ve gone on to college and become professionals, knowing we played a part in their journey, is truly a blessing. Growing up in Denver, Colorado, where our company is based, I didn’t have these opportunities.”

Kim Gusby kicked off last night’s event to a full house. The 37th Annual Savannah Black Heritage Festival will continue until February 28, with as a proud media sponsor.
