SAVANNAH, Ga. — Excitement is in the air as the Club Car Championship kicks off, offering fans thrilling golf action and enhanced experiences this year.
The tournament, now in its ninth year on the Korn Ferry Tour, commenced its opening rounds on Friday. It features a competitive lineup of over 150 golfers, providing attendees not only with top-tier golf but also picturesque views.
As round two gets underway later this morning, a full day packed with action is on the horizon. The crowd is expected to grow as the day progresses, creating a lively and energetic environment for all present.
In a bid to amplify the fan experience, tournament organizers have introduced several enhancements. These include upgraded viewing areas and a newly established public venue overlooking the pivotal 18th hole, offering spectators an unparalleled view of the tournament’s key moments.
A notable addition this year is the introduction of “Expo Alley” at the revamped main entrance. This innovative space allows local businesses to engage with golf fans, adding a community-centric dimension to the event.
“We actually have a lot of new stuff this year, so we have a new main entrance where we invited some local companies to come out and be a part of the Expo Alley. That’s just a space for them to get in front of fans and show what they’re doing,” said tournament director Brit Donahue.
A total of 156 players are competing in a four-day, 72-hole format. At stake is not only the championship title, but also valuable points that can help players climb the ranks toward the PGA Tour.
Beyond the competition, the tournament continues to support local organizations, including Brightside Child & Family Advocacy and Employability. Organizers emphasize that giving back to the community remains a core part of the event’s mission.
Gates open to the public at 9 a.m., with tickets starting as low as $10 – making it an accessible outing for golf fans and families alike. Organizers encourage early attendance for those looking to enjoy the action before the larger weekend crowds arrive.
The tournament runs through Sunday, with events scheduled each day. One of the weekend’s biggest highlights, Military Appreciation Day, is set for Saturday and is expected to draw significant attention.
With strong competition, upgraded fan features, and a focus on community engagement, the Club Car Championship is shaping up to be another memorable stop on the Korn Ferry Tour.
