Johnson City—Some things in sports are still considered rare, and one of those is a triple-double on the college level.
On Wednesday the ETSU Buccaneers’ Jaden Seymour a preseason all-conference selection totaled 18 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-high 10 assists to join Courtney Pigram and Tim Smith as the only etsu players to accomplish the feat.
Seymour is only the 14th Division I player this season to record a triple-double. His head coach, Brooks Savage, talks about how rare the feat has been in his career.
“I told him I never thought I’d see you get tennis’s pass like your hands like a deer. But naw I’m happy for him. It’s only my fourth one. Tyler Smith had one at Tennessee. L.A. Williams had one. Cameron Hildreth had one. I want to say one of those came against VMI when I was at Wake Forest. I can’t remember. And then Jake Arabia missed it by one assist at Florida State. And now Jaden Seymour for four. Since I’ve been in college basketball, for 20 years, that’s how rare it is because the game is just so short. But pretty cool. Pretty cool.”
