CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois basketball team is facing another game with a depleted roster as they prepare to compete at the State Farm Center.
Head Coach Brad Underwood announced during a pregame press conference that Tomislav Ivisic and Brandon Lee will not be playing in the upcoming match against Texas Tech. This adds to the ongoing absence of Ty Rodgers. On a brighter note, Andrej Stojakovic has been cleared to play after participating in the game against FGCU, and Mihailo Petrovic is on the mend and is expected to suit up for the game.
Underwood commented on Petrovic’s status, saying, “He’ll probably be in a uniform. We’ll see how it reacts again today. Just doing a little bit of up and down stuff for the first time, but I’m not expecting him to be anywhere. You know, he’s been in seven practices of our 31 or 32. So, you know, there’s a progression to getting that back.”
In his first appearance for Illinois, Stojakovic played 21 minutes, contributing nine points and grabbing five rebounds, as he continues to recover from a knee injury.
The Illinois team is set to host Texas Tech in a highly anticipated Top 15 matchup on Tuesday, November 11, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
