EVANS, Ga. ()- Columbia County is gearing up for an exciting year in entertainment.
The Performing Arts Center is not only slated to host a variety of major shows but is also advancing in its facility enhancement efforts.
With a lineup that spans musicals to live stage performances, the PAC is preparing for a packed schedule in 2026, all while investing nearly $10 million into renovations.
“We’re right in the thick of our busiest season at the moment. We still have numerous shows lined up for this month, April, and May. There’s plenty of exciting entertainment on the horizon for the community,” shared Josh Small, the general manager of CCPAC.
This Spring, audiences can look forward to a performance of Narnia by the Augusta Ballet.
The Black Jacket Symphony will be back, this time featuring American rock band Bon Jovi.
An evening with Food Network TV host Alton Brown is set for later next month.
The PAC is also preparing for two big musicals inside the next 3 months.
“We’re really excited about all of them, but ‘Six’ especially. It’s a really well-known Broadway Show that we’re very fortunate to be able to get for this year’s series,” said Small.
Another project in the works is the construction of a new two-story support facility.
County leaders approved the renovations last August for $9.7 million to go towards creating more storage space and a stand-alone event center.
“It’ll have two levels of event space, both indoors and outdoors. The main feature will be the banquet space on the 2nd floor that will be able to host groups up to 200 for dinners, banquets, wedding receptions, different things like that,” said Small.
He adds it all goes back to bringing great entertainment to the county, and growing the Evans area.
“We really see ourselves as the center of Columbia County and the arts community, and we really just want to promote that and help the area continue to grow,” Small said.
Construction on the support facility remains on schedule, and the PAC is expecting to open it by mid-November.
