EVANS, Ga. () – The Rotary Club of Columbia County has proudly announced the acquisition of a $5,000 subgrant from the Georgia Opioid Crisis Abatement Trust. This funding is earmarked for the purchase and distribution of Narcan (naloxone) overdose reversal kits.
In a statement released on March 2, the Rotary Club outlined its initiative to provide these life-saving kits to organizations aiding individuals and families throughout the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Club members have prepared single-use kits, each containing a dose of Narcan, for distribution to almost 120 local entities.
Elizabeth Bragg, President of the Rotary Club of Columbia County, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “Having Narcan readily available could mean the difference between life and death in our community. Delivering these kits to our community partners is a testament to the impactful service Rotary clubs aim to offer.”
Organizations interested in obtaining the kits or collaborating with the club are encouraged to contact them via email at rotarycolumbiacounty@gmail.com or by phone at (706) 250-0499.
