SAVANNAH, Ga. — Authorities have identified the man who was fatally shot outside Lucky’s Pub early Wednesday morning.

The victim, D’Angelo Shaw, was serving as a security guard at the establishment when he was killed.

Known affectionately as Akon, D’Angelo was remembered by friends and acquaintances as someone who was loving, dedicated, and perpetually cheerful.

Rachael’s, a local bar that D’Angelo often visited, expressed their deep sorrow at his passing. The establishment has committed to supporting his family during this difficult time, initiating an effort called “Order Up for Akon.”

“Our friends, family, and community are everything,” said Rachael Aldinger, owner of Rachael’s Sports, Food, and Fun. “We must support each other in moments like these.”

A patron turned into a friend.

DeAngelo Akon Shaw was shot and killed early Wednesday morning while working security at Luckys Pub.

In honor of Shaw, owner of Rachael’s sports food and fun, Rachael started order up for Akon, where you can order a shot, beer, his favorite food, lemon pepper wings, or just give a donation, and all proceeds until Sunday will go to his family.

“We are all so proud of him and everything that he accomplished, and he touched so many lives that we wanted to be able to help his family in any way that we can,” said Aldinger.

Rachael says Shaw was a regular, and she loved seeing him achieve his goals.

He was a mentor with veterans through Heroes in the Sky and a member of the Ruff Riders biking club.

She says he was a big part of their bar family.

She hopes the community helps support the people he loved the most during this tragic time.

“Whether it was working with the foundation that helps the veterans, you know, building his clientele and building his business with Planet Fitness, his school career, I mean, he touched so many lives that it’s just stunning to see the amount of people affected by this,” said Aldinger.

The man arrested in connection with shaws death is 45 year old jeremy scarth the investigation is ongoing.
