NWS: Radar confirmed tornado reported in Loudon County, Knoxville

EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated to clarify that there was a radar confirmed tornado.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Storm Team 6 is tracking severe weather after a radar confirmed Tornado that touched down in Loudon County and continued into Anderson County.

Just after 8 p.m., The National Weather Service reported that a Tornado Warning was in placed after multiple reports were made of a possible tornado approaching I-40 and traveling parallel to I-75. The warning was issued for multiple counties, including Loudon, Roane, Knox and Anderson County. As the storm continued to move through, the system being watched moved into Anderson County and toward Oak Ridge.

Just after 8:25 p.m., the NWS continued the warning for Anderson and Knox counties, and cancelled the warning for Loudon and Roane counties.

Storm Team 6 is continuing to monitoring as severe weather moves through East Tennessee.
