Cool Mornings Continue in Central Florida Before Rain Returns

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida will get another round of cooler mornings Sunday before temperatures and rain chances trend upward next week.

Most areas will begin Sunday in the 60s, marking the coolest stretch of morning temperatures since early June. Abundant sunshine and dry air will help temperatures rise into the mid-80s during the afternoon. Orlando is expected to reach 85 degrees, with rain chances near zero.

The dry weather will hold through Monday. Much of Central Florida will again wake up to temperatures in the 60s before afternoon highs climb into the mid to upper 80s.

Beachgoers should use caution Sunday as dangerous surf conditions continue along the Atlantic coast. A high risk of rip currents is expected, along with rough surf and breaking waves measuring 3 to 5 feet. Winds may be lighter, but entering the ocean remains strongly discouraged.

The weather pattern starts to shift Tuesday as moisture returns to the region. That will bring back at least a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while temperatures rise to near 90 degrees.

Rain chances will build during the second half of the week as deeper moisture moves into Central Florida. From Wednesday through next weekend, scattered to numerous afternoon and early evening showers and storms could bring locally heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds.

Enjoy this brief break from summerlike weather. By the middle and end of the week, warmer temperatures, higher humidity and more frequent afternoon storms will return.
