CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. () – In a tragic development, the Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) has filed vehicular homicide charges following a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old riding an e-bike.
On Thursday morning, the CCPD’s Traffic Unit formally charged 32-year-old Miguel Reyes-Castro with the crime.
- Felony first-degree vehicular homicide
- Felony hit-and-run
- Driving without a license

Additionally, 29-year-old Olvin Antonio Ramos-Ramos, the vehicle’s registered owner, faces charges of felony party to a crime.
Both individuals received their arrest warrants while already detained at the Chatham County Detention Center, where they have been held without bond since their initial arrest on December 29, 2025, related to the incident.
The charges are linked to the tragic event on December 28, 2025, when a teenager was fatally struck by a vehicle while on an e-bike, with the driver fleeing the scene immediately afterward.
