The Bristol, Virginia City Council has greenlit a partnership that will see the city’s police department collaborate with their counterparts in Bristol, Tennessee. This alliance will facilitate the sharing of video footage captured by cameras set to be installed along the bustling State Street.

The agreement specifies that these surveillance cameras will be strategically placed between Volunteer Parkway and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, enhancing security and oversight in the area.

Mayor Becky Nave of Bristol, Virginia, highlighted that a state grant has been secured to fund the installation of five cameras, ensuring that local taxpayers bear no financial burden. She also noted that Bristol, Tennessee is planning a similar installation of cameras on their side.

“Our cameras might capture footage relevant to their investigations, and theirs might do the same for us,” Nave explained. “This initiative allows us to collaborate and exchange valuable footage with Bristol, Tennessee, when necessary.”
