DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Thousands of race fans are flocking to Daytona this weekend for the Coke Zero Sugar 400, one of the biggest races of the NASCAR season.

The Daytona International Speedway is gearing up for the event, with 104,000 seats in the grandstands and many more fans enjoying the race from other vantage points around the track.

While the on-track action is intense, dedicated fans know the real fun happens in the infield, where RVs, campers and fan zones turn the speedway into a lively city of racing enthusiasts.

Fans have come from across the country and around the world, including first-timers and those who haven’t missed a race in decades.

Daytona Speedway President Frank Kelleher says the sport is experiencing a major boom in interest, with more fans camping and filling the stands each year.

“We really see this event growing now that it’s the regular season finale. We’re up year over year on camping and we’re up year over year on fans in the stands so it makes us really proud,” Kelleher said.

This race is the last regular-season event before the playoffs, with two playoff spots still up for grabs. Drivers expect the competition to be much fiercer than it was during the Daytona 500 in February.

“The race is shorter and with all of the playoff implications everyone races a little bit crazier so there’s a much different cadence to this race,” said William Byron, winner of the 2025 Daytona 500.

A few tickets remain for the weekend’s races and kids under 12 get in for free.

Both races tonight and tomorrow are set to kick off at 7:30 p.m.
