AUGUSTA, Ga () – Something new is coming to Augusta and surrounding areas to help older residents.

The company is called, “Seniors Helping Seniors.”

It provides job opportunities for older adults to work as caregivers and helpers for people in their age group and stage of life.

Jeanine Lewis Canales owns the local franchise of the business and says it’s a win-win for people who provide the care as well as those on the receiving end.

In her “What’s Trending” segment, NewsChannel 6’s Dee Griffin talks with Jeanine Lewis Canales talks about the company and how it provides opportunities for senior adults to help their fellow senior adults who need assistance.

Lewis Canales also talked about “National Cheer Up The Lonely Day” which is Friday, July 11th.

A Grand Opening for the local “Seniors Helping Seniors” and recognition of “National Cheer Up The Lonely Day” is Thursday, July 10th from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Unwind on Central, 2120 Central Avenue in Augusta.
