DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A juvenile is behind bars after a mid-afternoon shooting that left a teenager hurt in Danville.
Police officers responded to the East Williams and Plum Streets area around 2 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, they found a 15-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds.
Two hours later, officers located a suspect about six miles away from the crime scene. The department said the suspect was arrested after running from officers in a field near Poolside Drive.
“The Danville Police Department would like to thank the community and those who saw something and said something. Much information was gathered from those who had information on the incident,” Terry McCord, the department’s deputy chief, said.
The teenager shot remains in the hospital in critical condition. This is an ongoing investigation.
