DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Some teenagers in Danville are leading a town hall Thursday night, after the shooting death of Aniyah Davis more than one month ago.

They hope to get the community’s attention, and start holding people accountable — especially since Davis’ case is still unsolved.

One of the organizers, Curtis Beasley IV, said he and his friends started staying home out of fear, and realized enough was enough.

“It could have been me. It could have been anybody who was there,” Beasley said. “And it’s very unfortunate that it had to be the person who it was, because that’s a daughter that a family no longer has, a friend that people no longer have.”

The event will take place at Laura Lee Fellowship House at 6 p.m. Thursday night.
