Decatur art gallery helps emerging artists and holds a prize-giving event this week

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A gallery in Decatur that is showcasing art created by students from Central Illinois schools will host an award ceremony on Friday.

Gallery 510 Art & Framing is featuring 112 pieces of art from 5th through 8th grade students. Awards will be given separately for 5th-6th graders and 7th-8th graders. There is a Best of Show award in both sections.

The Young Artists Showcase 2025 award ceremony and closing reception will be held Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m.

The exhibit can be viewed at the Decatur Area Art’s Council’s 1^st floor Madden Arts Center. The show is free and open to the public and has been on display since Jan. 10. The exhibit is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturdays.
