DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — On Thursday afternoon, a significant blaze engulfed an abandoned home in Decatur, prompting a swift response from the local fire department. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 3:44 p.m. to the 700 block of West Macon Street following reports of a house fire. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered intense flames erupting from the second-floor windows on three sides of the large vacant residence.
