DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A mother in Decatur is speaking out after charges were dropped against the man accused of fatally striking her 12-year-old son while he was riding his bicycle.

Hassan Woods, aged 45, is no longer charged with aggravated DUI causing death and has been released from custody.

The Macon County State’s Attorney stated that the available evidence did not substantiate claims that Woods’ intoxication was responsible for the June death of Kavari Drisdell.
