In the early hours of Saturday, shortly after midnight, Decatur Police Department officers were called to investigate reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Illinois Street, they found evidence of the incident in the form of a dozen spent shell casings. However, those involved had already left the area.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or property damage resulting from the gunfire. The police noted the absence of witnesses at the scene, which has made gathering additional information a challenge.
