Decatur Resident Charged in August Shooting Incident Resulting in Injuries

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities have taken a 32-year-old man from Decatur into custody on Tuesday in connection with an August shooting incident that left another man injured and hospitalized.

According to the Macon County Circuit Clerk, Decatur Police apprehended Carnyshal D. Barbee on October 28, leading to his booking at the Macon County Jail. He faces multiple felony charges.

  • Aggravated battery/discharge of firearm
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender
  • Aggravated discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in a vehicle, loaded, without a concealed carry license, with two or more prior qualifying offenses
  • Felon in possession of a weapon – second or subsequent offense
