JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Mall at Johnson City hosted the Galentine’s Day Market on Saturday.

25 vendors showcased crafts, foods and more to welcome the month of love. Galentine’s Day vendors said the event helped bring attention to their small businesses, some of which do not have permanent locations.

Theresa Aubrey, owner of Theresa’s Famous Fudge, said 18 fudge flavors were available at her booth. Aubrey has no permanent location and counts on festivals and events like Galentine’s Day to keep her business running.

Aubrey said February 14th is a special day for her and her husband.

“Well, it means love. I’m pointing to my significant other, my husband of 43 years. So, yeah, peace, love.”

Chelsey Hall, owner of Baked and Bathed in Knoxville, said her menu included baked goods and homemade soaps—her banana bread was arguably the biggest hit.

“Valentine’s Day, to me, is about sharing extra love on one certain day, although we share it throughout the year,” Hall said. “And this event, for me, is to show people that we are here for them, [with] our baked goods to give to their loved ones.”
