TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A suspect wanted for an extensive fraud operation has been arrested on several outstanding warrants, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Isaac Allen, 58, was found in possession of hundreds of stolen personal identification documents, credit cards, and checks, according to officials.
HCSO worked alongside the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office to arrest Allen on Friday on numerous outstanding fraudulent-related warrants.
The two departments said Allen had assumed several identities to try to throw off law enforcement.
Allen is facing three counts of false names on a driver’s license ID, two counts of possession of a forged driver’s license, seven counts of making false affidavits for a driver’s license, five counts of similitude of unauthorized use or possession of a driver’s license, two counts of using false information, except the date of birth to get a license, using a false name on a driver’s license application, and possessing a false driver’s license.
“This case is a testament to the power of collaboration and the dedication required to tackle complex investigations,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “The partnership between our Economic Crimes Section and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office reflects our shared commitment to bringing justice to those who seek to exploit and defraud our communities. We will continue to work together to ensure accountability and safety for the residents we serve.”
“We are proud to have partnered with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office to bring this person to justice and prevent further victimization of our citizens,” Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman said. “Criminals should know that they cannot escape justice by running from one jurisdiction to another — our Economic Crimes Unit will find you.”
Allen could face additional charges.
This remains an ongoing investigation.
