In Savannah, Georgia, a significant operation carried out by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stirred curiosity and speculation on Tuesday. This was confirmed by a representative of the Savannah Police Department (SPD), who clarified the details amidst swirling social media rumors.

Contrary to widespread online speculation suggesting that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was involved, the Savannah Police spokesperson decisively stated that ICE had no participation in this particular operation.

The DHS operation was centered on a business located on Tremont Avenue and commenced around 11 a.m. that day. While the exact nature of the operation remains undisclosed, the spokesperson did confirm that the SPD was placed “on standby” as DHS agents carried out their duties. Notably, SPD officers did not actively engage in the operation itself.

As of now, the authorities have not released further details regarding the specifics of the operation, including whether any individuals were detained or if there were any injuries reported. The shroud of mystery surrounding the event continues to prompt questions and concern among local residents and observers.

Officials did not provide information on what the operation entailed. It’s unknown if any injuries occurred during the incident or if anyone was detained.
