In Bristol, Virginia, a 29-year-old local man found himself ensnared in a legal web as law enforcement officials pressed charges related to child exploitation. This action followed an investigation that saw authorities delve into the man’s electronic data.
According to the Bristol, Virginia Police Department, a pivotal tip-off came from the Horn Lake Police Department, based in Mississippi. This contact occurred after a concerned mother stepped forward, troubled over the interactions of her 15-year-old daughter.
Through their investigative efforts, the police discovered that the teenager had reportedly been engaging in conversations with the 29-year-old via Discord. This individual was later identified by authorities as William Tollie, as stated by the BVPD.
To further their inquiry, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division of the BVPD successfully obtained a search warrant. This allowed them to confiscate Tollie’s digital devices, which included both desktop computers and his cellphone. The seizure aimed to collect evidence such as text exchanges, photographs, call logs, and Discord communications.

He was taken to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
