COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. () – The Columbia County Board of Education is on the verge of finalizing its budget proposal for the 2026-2027 academic year.

This proposed budget meticulously details the expected income and expenses for the district. These funds are earmarked for a variety of needs, including general operations, special revenue, school nutrition programs, facility improvements, debt obligations, and workers’ compensation.

“For those interested in the specifics of our budget, we’ve made all this information available on our website,” stated Dr. Steven Flynt, superintendent of Columbia County Schools. “You can review the presentation we discussed this morning, or watch a replay of our live session, which is also available online. We encourage anyone with questions to reach out via email or attend one of our public input sessions.”

The next opportunity for public feedback is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Board of Education office. School officials have indicated that the budget will not receive final approval until June, providing ample time for community members to share their thoughts.
