AUGUSTA, Ga. () – On Friday, U.S. Representative Buddy Carter (R) visited the Manus Bio facility in Augusta, making a significant stop in the region.

During his visit on October 24, 2025, Carter explored the expanding biomanufacturing plant situated at 1762 Lovers Lane. As a Georgia representative, his tour highlighted the importance of this site.

Manus Bio is among the leading biomanufacturing facilities in the United States, bringing advanced technology jobs to the area. The company collaborates with federal health organizations to bolster America’s pharmaceutical supply chains, aiming to decrease dependency on overseas medicine production while fostering local employment opportunities.

Carter remarked, “This site was once abandoned, and now Manus has revitalized it, restoring jobs and emphasizing domestic manufacturing. Considering the manufacturing activities in Augusta, this region will be one of Georgia’s most vibrant areas. Additionally, due to the cybersecurity developments here, it holds national significance.”

Currently, Manus employs over 100 individuals in Augusta, many of whom are former NutraSweet employees, contributing to what leaders describe as the “bioeconomy of the future.”
