AUGUSTA, Ga. – The CANDL Fine Art gallery is set to unveil its latest exhibition, “Parallel Vessels,” featuring the works of the late sculptor Kath Girder Engler and ceramic artist Gerry O’Meara. The exhibition will open on December 5 and will run until January 16, 2026.

This exhibit offers a distinctive exploration of the artistic worlds of Engler and O’Meara, presenting their creations in a way that highlights both their differences and similarities.

“Parallel Vessels is a fascinating investigation into the works of two artists who are both unique and alike,” stated CANDL Fine Art in a recent announcement. “The exhibit showcases both functional and sculptural pieces inspired by natural forms, diverse artistic traditions, and the intriguing paradox of what defines a vessel and its purpose.”

Kath Girder Engler was a celebrated sculptor whose creations have adorned various locations, including the campus of Augusta University and the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Engler passed away in 2014, leaving behind a legacy of impactful art.

Gerry O’Meara, whose ceramic art has gained national recognition, has been featured in several prestigious events. His works have been included in the Masur Museum of Art’s Annual Juried Competitions, ArtFields, the LaGrange Southeast Regional, SIP: A Ceramic Cup Show, and numerous student exhibitions at Augusta University.

CANDL is located at 1128 Broad Street in Augusta. Open hours are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday – Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
