(NEXSTAR) — Amid the ongoing conflict in Iran, fuel prices at gas stations remain stubbornly high.
President Trump expressed optimism that oil and gas costs might soon decrease. During an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” he mentioned his belief that the conflict with Iran “won’t last much longer,” suggesting a potential easing of fuel prices.
As of Sunday, AAA reports the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $4.125, a slight increase from last week’s average of $4.11. Diesel prices have also risen, now at $5.663 per gallon compared to $5.61 the previous week.
Data from AAA indicates that since April 5, gas prices have decreased in 15 states, though the extent of the reduction varies by location.
