SAVANNAH, Ga. — As the holiday season approaches, communities in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry are gearing up to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Each of these festivities brings with it unique traditions and opportunities for families to gather and create cherished memories.

Coastal Empire

  • Nov. 17 to Jan. 4: Gordon Family Christmas Tours at Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Museum | Reservations recommended
  • Nov. 24 to Dec. 17: Statesboro’s Christmas toy drive at Statesboro City Hall | 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Nov. 27: United Way’s 17th annual Turkey Trot at Daffin Park | 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Nov 28: Holiday Tree Lighting at Broughton and Bull streets | 5:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 6: Savannah Nutcracker at Trustees Theater | 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Dec 6: Renegade Paw Rescue’s Dogs and Daiquiris at 14 Cardinal Road in Hilton Head Island | 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Dec. 11: Roger Moss Christmas Cabaret at Billy’s Place | 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 13: Christmas on the Bluff Boat Parade in Thunderbolt | 6 p.m.
  • Dec 14: Jewish Educational Alliance’s Chanukah at Forsyth Park | 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 21: Statesboro’s Christmas toy distribution at Statesboro City Hall | 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Dec 25: Savannah Jazz Christmas Concert at Plant Riverside | 5 p.m.

Lowcountry

  • Nov. 22: Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade at Alder Lane Beach Access to Lowcountry Celebration Park | 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 22: Jasper County Sheriff’s Office’s Santa and his Heroes at 10 University Pkwy in Okatie | 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Dec. 5: Bluffton tree lighting and movie night | 5:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 6: Bluffton Christmas parade | 10 a.m.
  • Dec. 6: Gullah Taste of Christmas at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. | 11 a.m.
  • Dec. 19: Hampton County Sheriff’s Office hosts Santa’s Wonderland Christmas Toy Drive at Market Square in Varnville | 4 p.m.
  • Dec. 29: Paws and Claws Parade at Harbour Town | 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
