AUGUSTA, Ga () – Strolling through downtown Augusta, you might encounter some unusual inquiries.

Have you spotted them? The bots on Broad Street?

“I haven’t seen any bots. What are you talking about?” responded Reshard Brumfield with curiosity.

To find these bots, you need to be in the right location and pay close attention. However, rest assured, these aren’t some menacing AI robots.

“No, they’re actually quite cute and on the smaller side. They can’t really cause much trouble unless you count the pain of stepping on a Lego,” remarked Nicole Rapp with a chuckle.

They are Tommy Bots, and they’re in ten storefront windows on Broad Street, as the objects for a scavenger hunt. You can pick up your score card at Augusta & Co. and start the search to find all ten. This wild bot chase is underway.

“This launched on Wednesday. We’ve already had about five people come in and redeem their prizes,” said Mamie McAbee of Augusta & Co.

The bots are designed by local artist, Leonard ‘Pork Chop’ Zimmerman, and some are designed to match the store they are in. It’s to provide something other than orange barrels to look at on Broad.

“A way to get people to come downtown and explore. Since there is all this construction, there needed to be something extra to bring down here,” said Pork Chop.

So, get into the swing, put on those walking shoes and search for the bots on Broad. Don’t miss it.

“Right over there, I seen one. Yep. The corner of the window, I saw it,” said Reshard.

So, somebody asking you if you’ve seen robots on Broad Street is not that weird?

“No sir, no sir,” he said.
