SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Just in time for spooky season, you can explore Bonaventure Cemetery after dark! The third annual Bonaventure Speaks, hosted by the Bonaventure Historical Society, invites guests to explore the moonlit lanes of the cemetery while historic interpreters tell the true stories of its forever residents.

You have two chances for this unique experience: Oct. 4 and 25.
“It’s such a special and unique opportunity to visit Bonaventure in the quiet, cool of the evening with our knowledgeable guides and costumed re-enactors telling their fascinating stories,” Patricia Alhouse, chair of the Bonaventure Historical Society, tells News 3. “Get ready to see Bonaventure in literally a whole new light.”
This year, Bonaventure Speaks will explore the connection to a presidential assassination, a true tale of lost love and the Victorians’ obsession with cemeteries.
The tour begins both nights at 6:00 p.m. at the old keeper’s cottage just inside the cemetery gates. Tickets are $65 per person. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before to give ample time to park in the lot right outside the gates.
There are no lights inside the cemetery, but flashlights will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, or you can bring battery-powered lanterns or flashlights.
Closed-toed shoes and bug spray are recommended. This event is rain or shine.
