AUGUSTA, Ga. () – As Christmas draws near, Augusta is lighting up with an array of exciting concerts and holiday performances. But there’s another intriguing event on the horizon that’s all about the art of storytelling!

“Noir at the Bar” promises an evening filled with captivating tales and refreshing drinks, featuring a selection of Southern writers from the East Coast. Among the storytellers are actor Jon Lindstrom and Augusta’s very own Brian Panowich.

This unique experience is brought to you by the Augusta University Writing Project, hosted at Le Chat Noir. Dr. Rebecca Harper, the director, will take on the role of panel host for the night.

“It’s a lot like teaching middle school,” Dr. Harper explained. “You just keep the momentum going. I’m thrilled because writing is fascinating in how it connects different narratives. We’ll hear from a diverse group of writers: poet Karen Head, short story author Megan Lucas, and several novelists.”

The best part? The event is free to attend! Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with storytelling kicking off at 7:00 p.m.

Panowich and Harper have big plans to grow the writers series… and engage others in the art of storytelling. See the full list of writers participating below:
