SAVANNAH, Ga. — The city of Savannah buzzed with excitement as the Savannah Black Heritage Festival spotlighted health and wellness this past Saturday.
In collaboration with the 100 Black Men of Savannah, the festival hosted a complimentary community health fair at the Georgia Infirmary, emphasizing the importance of well-being among locals.
Attendees had access to free health screenings for blood pressure, glucose levels, and heart rate. Additionally, the event offered resources and guidance for adopting healthier lifestyle habits.
Among those participating were students from Savannah State University. These students not only took advantage of the health services but also gained insight into their potential future careers in the medical field.
“This event gives me a perspective on our community’s progress,” shared Savannah State student Jaisa Sengsourichanh. “It’s a great opportunity for me to network with professionals in the medical field, which aligns with my career aspirations.”
