Discovery of 5 Pounds of Meth in Tumblers During Arrests in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, G.A. (WSPA) – Two people were arrested Saturday after deputies found five pounds of methamphetamine in two tumblers in Franklin County.

Shortly after 10 p.m., the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Owens Drive and Georgia 17, but a chase ensued when the driver attempted to flee.

Authorities identified the driver as Jonathan Andrew Goble, of Kentucky.

Deputies said Goble was taken into custody after law enforcement performed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle from fleeing. He was charged with driving under the influence, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects and felony fleeing & attempting to elude.

Goble also received a window tint violation, according to deputies.

While searching the vehicle, the sheriff’s office located methamphetamine with a street value of $170,000 in two large, pink tumblers. A passenger, Lacresha Glover, of Kentucky, was also arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.

Both suspects were booked into the Franklin County Detention Center.

The incident remains under investigation by the FCSO.
