LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – In a chilling incident at Disney Springs last month, employees at the Paddlefish restaurant endured a terrifying ordeal as a masked robber forced them to the ground with trash bags placed over their heads, according to details from a recently released 911 call.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported that the robbery took place shortly after midnight on September 15.

During the 911 call, it was revealed that the suspect was entirely dressed in black. He went to the extent of disabling a surveillance camera by spraying it with paint, ensuring his identity remained concealed.

Describing the suspect, the caller mentioned, “He had a mask, hat, and even glasses on.”

The sheriff’s office said the man took cash from the restaurant and left. At the time of the robbery, the caller told dispatch there were two employees and a cleaning crew inside the store.

“He pushed us to the ground, put trash bags over (us) and taped our hands together,” the caller said. “… He came around the corner and saw us and rushed in. It was like he knew where (the cash room) was.”

No one was injured.

Paddlefish Restaurant is part of Levy Restaurants, which issued a brief statement following the robbery that said, in part: “We have no comment; this is an active investigation.”

According to its website, Disney Springs is home to more than 150 destinations, including shops and restaurants.

An investigation is ongoing.
