PAXTON, Ill. (WCIA) — Paxton-Buckley-Loda District 210 Superintendent Travis Duley announced his resignation in an email on Tuesday.
WCIA’s partners with the Ford County Chronicle reported that he said several months of stress had begun to take an impact on him, and said it’s best for someone else to lead the district. More updates will be made available by the school district as the summer progresses.
“The superintendency is a unique role though that takes a certain amount of energy and also comes along with a certain level of stress,” Duley said in part of his email to district families. “Ultimately, that stress has begun to have an impact on me in a number of ways, and although I have tried to push through that impact, I have come to a point when I believe it is time for me to pursue other opportunities and for someone else to lead the district.”
Earlier this year, the school district received multiple complaints of inappropriate touching against Robert Pacey, a teacher and volunteer coach. No criminal charges have been filed against Pacey.
