Dobyns-Bennett High School Honored with Prestigious TN Voter Registration Award for Civic Engagement Excellence

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Dobyns-Bennett High School has achieved the distinction of a silver-level winner in the State of Tennessee’s “Anne Dallas Dudley Voter Registration Award” for the year 2026.

Established in 2021, this award seeks to enhance voter registration rates among high school students in Tennessee who will reach voting age by the next election. The initiative honors schools that successfully engage young voters.

According to a statement from Kingsport City Schools, institutions where 85% of eligible students are registered to vote are awarded silver-level recognition, whereas those achieving a 100% registration rate earn the prestigious gold status.
