Domestic Incident Preceded Tragic Grovetown Murder-Suicide

GROVETOWN, Ga. () – On the afternoon of March 25th, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was called to a domestic incident at 524 Oxbow Drive in Grovetown.

This incident came just eight days before Titus Scott was accused of fatally shooting his estranged wife, Myneika Scott, before allegedly taking his own life.

According to reports from the Sheriff’s Office, Myneika informed deputies that although she and Titus were still legally married, they had been living apart since December 2024. She also stated that Titus had never resided at the Oxbow Drive address or contributed to any household expenses there.

Mr. Scott reportedly called the victim 80 times in a three-day span both from his own number and a “No Caller ID” number.

Reports said Myneika knew the “No Caller ID” number was Mr. Scott because she answered it a couple of times to tell him to stop calling and it was always him on the other line.

Ms. Scott also told deputies that the suspect went into her home that same afternoon without her permission.

It’s reported that Ms. Scott was contacted by her daughter, and told her that Titus came in through the garage right after she left. He then allegedly went up to Ms. Scott`s bedroom for a short time before leaving. Ms. Scott later found that her $900 laptop was missing.

The CCSO called Mr. Scott to discuss the allegations and he told police that he went to visit his daughter and that he didn’t take the laptop, it was hidden inside the home.

A judge was reportedly contacted about the incident and the judge stated, “If it can be investigated and determined that Mr. Scott pays no bills at the residence and has never resided there then the crime of Criminal Trespass may have occurred.”

In reference to the harassing phone calls, the judge stated, “Mr. Scott would need to be told by law enforcement not to call in such a manner. Further calls could then result in a warrant requested by law enforcement. However, Ms. Scott could request a pre warrant hearing based on the evidence she has if she wished.”

Reports said that deputies advised Ms. Scott of all the legal options and she told deputies she did not want Titus arrested and wanted him to still be able to see their children.

The case was closed with a Waiver of Prosecution.

TIMELINE:

October 2025

Columbia County Deputies met with Myneika Scott who reportedly told them that she and Titus discussed divorce with their children when Titus became upset and left the house. The two later met back up to watch their daughter’s soft-ball fame and continue discussing divorce. Mr Scott again became upset. He later allegedly called Ms. Scott and threatened to hit their shared car with a bat.

November 2025

Ms. Scott contacted the CCSO to check on Mr. Scott’s welfare. She said she was concerned he would harm himself after making the statement, “Let’s hope there’s life after death.” When law enforcement checked on Titus he allegedly told them he thought of harming himself in the past and again on that day. While waiting for EMS to pick Mr Scott up for a mental evaluation, deputies reportedly saw an almost bottle of liquor and a handgun on his living room table.
