GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — One person was arrested Tuesday morning after a high-speed pursuit throughout Greene County and Johnson City.
Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reports that around 10:30 a.m., a white Chevrolet Sonic was driving at 90 mph near mile marker 47 on Interstate 81 in Greene County.
The vehicle refused to stop for troopers and fled north on I-81, THP stated.
As the pursuit continued, a citizen reportedly used their vehicle to block the fleeing Chevrolet around mile marker 17 on Interstate 26 in Washington County.
The Chevrolet then drove around the vehicle and continued towards exit 19.
At exit 19, multiple Johnson City Police Department units and THP troopers were set up with tire deflation devices, according to the report.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop at the bottom of the exit 19 ramp.
The driver, identified by THP as Tonya Richards, 52, was arrested and charged with felony evading arrest, speeding and driving on a revoked third offense.
No injuries were reported.
