URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The City of Urbana is one step closer to a new coffee shop coming to town.

The plan is to put Dutch Bros on the corner of West Green Street and South Lincoln Avenue. Earlier this year the City’s Planning Commission denied approval because of a drive thru safety issue. Monday night, developers showed up with a new plan to accommodate pedestrians and drivers.

The new design features a drive thru, walk up windows and more than 10 parking spaces for employees and customers. City officials said they plan on having spaces for people to park their bikes as well.

The City Council said they like the latest design and pushed the discussion to the next meeting. But, they did ask for developers to include more warning signs for bikers and pedestrians.
