MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — Bulldogs signal caller Luke Dyer will take his talents to the Big South/OVC this fall after committing to play for the Skyhawks.

Dyer threw for nearly 2,700 yards and 30 touchdowns this past season for Mahomet-Seymour.

The senior told WCIA that having family near the UT Martin campus was part of why he chose to play for the Skyhawks.

Dyer also looks forward to the coaching he’ll get in college.

“Their quarterback coach is a really smart guy and he knows a lot about the mechanics side of throwing and they were able to put on my film and see that I was a talented thrower, but I still had a lot of room to grow mechanics wise, so that’s what I’m most excited about doing, is getting down there and working with him,” Dyer said.

Dyer is one of more than 20 athletes in this Mahomet-Seymour senior class who have committed to competing in college.
